I have been working at Palmetto GBA full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

I have enjoyed working for Blue Cross for the last 9 years, I have learned a lot and I would recommend this job to everyone. The pay is good and the bonuses are great. There is a great work schedule and numerous days off.

    Cons

The phones stay busy and there is always changes to the regulations trying to make sure things work comfortably. Certain areas more training time is needed and then other things training is not long enough.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The leadership is great to work with and for.

    Application Details

I applied online. The process took a weekinterviewed at Palmetto GBA in March 2012.

    Interview Details

Three-on-one assault, but the interviewers are very nice people. Technical questions about SAS programming ability. Also given a "pop quiz" during the interview in which I had to identify characteristics of certain sections of code as well as some SAS output.

    Negotiation Details
Was offered $48,000/year. Told them that was definitely not enough. They said they'd see if they could "move some money around," which to the best of my knowledge means, "We're going to wait a couple days and make the same offer." They flat didn't budge. There was no negotiation. It was take-it or leave-it.
