I have been working at Palomar Health part-time

Flexible, professional, team spirit, free supervision for licensing.

Pay for full time and part time is too low for medical social workers who also do the discharge planning. Company saved money by utilizing master level social workers for an RN task but at the expense of the social workers. Difficult to provide support to patients when your main task is to discharge as rapidly as possible. Case load for discharging G during the week is between 24 amd 30 patients. Weekends can be 100 patients when you are short staffed.

    Advice to Management

Increase medical social worker salaries to support the dual role and you won't lose anymore excellent employees who genuinely love working for Palomar.

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Palomar Health (Escondido, CA) in January 2012.

I sat in a room with the manager and two therapists for about 15 minutes, they basically asked me a bunch of really random questions and the entire situation felt super unprofessional.
