I have been working at Parkland Health & Hospital System full-time (more than 3 years)

Diversity in the people, work and clinical settings. There are so many aspects to this healthcare system that need addressing there is never a dull moment - Parkland is what you make it. After working at Parkland you will have an entirely new mindset on the workplace and life.

The Dallas Morning News. This rag of a publication heaps levels of scrutiny on this institution that no other paying hospital in the DFW area comes close to experiencing. The biggest challenge is caring for our patient population and making our institution flexible to their needs; keep in mind these are patients other hospitals refuse to treat.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Many of the providers and staff share an over reaching concern for patients and their medical care and decisions that borders on the parental. We need to expect more from our patients in terms how they participate in their healthcare decisions and how they treat our staff.

    Interview Details

Spoke with the therapy director one-on-one. Then met with a panel of 4 other therapists where there was roundtable style questioning for about 1 1/2 hours. Questions were mainly behavioral and tough to answer since I am a new grad and didn't have much experience to pull from. They were all super nice and stated the hospital does self-paced on-site training to ease the transition.
