I have been working at Parsons Brinckerhoff full-time for more than 3 years

I really like my job. Good pay and nice benefits. Flexible schedule. Intelligent and friendly co-workers.

The company has had some trouble with morale after the purchase by Balfour Beatty. Now with the recent sale to WSP, there is tentative optimism that things might improve, but a lot of uncertainty as well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do what it takes to attract and hang onto the best. In the four years that I've been here, I've seen many good people leave unnecessarily. Moving the bulk of the NYC staff to Amish country, PA was a huge mistake. It might have saved millions of dollars on paper, but the negative ramifications of that decision continue today.

    Anonymous Employee in Newark, NJ
    Application Details

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Parsons Brinckerhoff in February 2014.

    Interview Details

No phone interview. Direct on-site interview. Reached before time but they were ready to interview me then and there. Met the senior manager and the manager for the traction department. discussed holidays, pay range, benefits, job description. Then the manager interviewed me for 30 mins but hardly any technical questions. More of behavioral questions.

    Interview Questions
    • They asked all behavioral questions. They gave hypothetical situations and asked me what i would do if stuck in a situation like that. For example, What would you do if you are given a project and there is a short time to finish it and you do not know much about it or how to go about it?   View Answer
