I worked at Peabody Energy full-time (More than 10 years)RecommendsNeutral OutlookNo opinion of CEORecommendsNeutral OutlookNo opinion of CEO
Went through many iterations of management, the managment team when I left was very much into ensuring that work life balance was seen too. On the benefits side, healthcare/etc was good. But there were little other benefits being offered.
Getting anything accomplished in a reasonable amount of time took some work. There is definitely some in fighting between the field and corporate teams. A great deal of individuals working in corporate did not understand that the money for the company was made from pulling coal out of the ground. This lead to friction.
Really no upward mobility either.
Advice to Management
Send staff into the field more to get a better understanding of what is actually occurring at the mines and field locations.
