I have been working at PerkinElmer full-time (More than 5 years)

Very good teams throughout my career here. Flexible hours in some cases, lots of perks for engineers (car, cell, travel accounts, etc). This company has been very good to me over the years in the case of medical emergencies. The insurance is great; they had partner benefits before most other companies.

Lower pay than competitors Currently unstable--lots of quiet layoffs in rounds to make numbers for Wall Street Slow to adopt new concepts/technology Lack of vision below President Lack of infrastructure Lack of upward movement Field gets almost no training unless you're an engineer--and those training programs are few and far ebwteen.

    Advice to Management

Create a clear vision, and ensure it moves downward. Build us an infrastructure that supports the business we book ahead of time. Train us better. Simplify processes and develop clear RACI charts. Spend money on training. BE NIMBLE--our competitors are starting to kill us. We love this company, and we want to make it better.
