I have been working at Pet Supplies Plus full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Some pros include: Excellent entry level management opportunity; Purchased personal items at cost; online training modules kept employees current on latest products and services.

    Cons

Very little opportunity for long term growth within the company. Because of this there were many below me who were constantly vying for my position and without any room for upward mobility the only way to obtain my position would be patience or sabotage. An insane amount of gossip Please note my experience with the company has been restricted to family owned franchises.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Corporate stores could consider working with franchisees to create more mobility in the hierarchy.

    Co Manager Interview

    Application Details

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Pet Supplies Plus in August 2014.

    Interview Details

I was contacted by a head hunter for the company which was a 2 hour phone interview that I passed next was another phone interview with the business partner. The final step was with the district manager who made it painfully obvious he was not interested in what I had to offer. I later found out it was because of the company I come from which is Target. I was blown away from the waste of time and discrimination these people put me through.
