Save Lives Every Day
Pets are always inspiring us. From comfort to companionship to support, they always seem to know exactly what we need. That's why we've joined forces with PetSmart Charities—the leading organization that grants more money directly to helping pets in need than any other animal welfare group in North America, and has a focus on funding spay/neuter services. We're helping to save pets lives through grants, adoptions and rescues—not sales. So far, we've saved over five million pets, giving them new homes and new opportunities to inspire pet parents. And we're not stopping there. When you join PetSmart, you'll join thousands of proud associates who volunteer and donate their time, money and supplies with PetSmart Charities to help save animals in need across the country.
About PetSmart Charities

I have been working at PetSmart part-time (Less than a year)
They have really nice co-workers in there, I see lots of hardworking associates. The manager Andy works along with the other workers to keep them motivated. I really respect that. They also have open door policy, if you have a problem with another co-worker, you can talk to the management team to resolve the issue. This is the job that is great for people who are seeking entry level job. The job is easy and fun. Has to be good with customer though. You can also learn to take care of the small animals through this job.
Despite how much you love the animals. The sad reality is that you cannot support your living with this job. Most of the workers are living with their family members to save up. Not going to lie, you are going to deal with dead animals sometimes, and it gets you a bit depressed after times. It also gets more depressing to see more animals in the backroom fighting with each other because of limited amount of space. I do love working in here for awhile, but the fact that we are selling animals as retail items did make me feel uncomfortable, and wondering the moral side of this business.
Advice to Management
Keep up the good work, and keep motivating your employees.
Getting an Interview

I applied online. I interviewed at PetSmart.
I applied online and received a call about a week later to schedule an interview. My interview was with one of the two store managers during business hours. The interviewer spent some time telling me about the company and about the job. She kept the interview short, asking some of the standard questions that usually come on interviews such as why I wanted the job, how long I intended to work there, and about my prior experience in retail. She also had me roleplay with her using a scenario of an upset customer. She did give me the opportunity to request a wage, although I was told that they actually had a set amount that the corporate office allows them to start employees at. Because the interview was during business hours and the manager was needed for several things during the process, I had to be flexible in pausing and picking back up again for interruptions.
