We believe that it is part of our corporate responsibility to support and enrich local communities and the country through our involvement in charitable and philanthropic activities. Phacil is a consistent financial contributor to certain nonprofit organizations focused on at-risk youth, such as Summer Search and Immaculate Conception Academy (ICA), who provide educational and professional development assistance to disadvantaged youths. Phacil has supported other such organizations, including De La Salle Academy, Don Bosco Preparatory High School, Fordham Preparatory School, San Mateo Public Library, and a Child Literacy Program at Schriever Air Force Base. Phacil also supports the Second Harvest Food Bank.
In the Military community, Phacil is an “Army Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS)” partner, an Army program that connects government agencies and civilian companies with qualified soldiers, providing them with priority-hiring status upon completing their service in the Army. We have also been a contributor to Operation Homefront and USO World Headquarters
Phacilians recently participated in a very successful Community Service Day at Boulder Crest Retreat. Despite the cold and rainy October weather, 50 volunteers from Phacil, local firefighters, and members of the Boulder Crest team assisted in a major cleanup project. Boulder Crest is a 37 acre retreat located in Bluemont, VA. It was built to provide free accommodations, recreational and therapeutic activities and programs for our military and veterans and their families to recover from the aftermath and wounds of war. After the service day concluded, Phacil invited the firefighters and Boulder Crest Members to join us in a hot lunch from Smokin Willy’s, a local family owned restaurant, in appreciation for their help during the event.
We thank all of the volunteers who took time to help a great cause and hope to continue to serve our veterans, military families and firefighters in the coming years.
Phacil is proud to announce that this year our San Francisco Corporate office will be partnering with Building Opportunities for Self-Sufficiency (BOSS) to collect items for the Hope for the Holidays Drive, helping local Bay Area homeless and low income individuals and families have a brighter Holiday Season.
The San Francisco office will have a collection box located in the break area for employees to make donations. Items to be collected will include towels & toiletries, blankets and linens, gift cards, scarves, hats, board games and similar items.

Phacilians work hard…and they play hard. From chili cook-offs in our favorite football teams’ garb, to foosball tournaments, flag football leagues, cornhole, and the annual holiday cookie exchange (egg nog, anyone?), we have a lot of fun. Phacil provides a great work environment. Our office space is open light and airy. Its comfortable atmosphere promotes teamwork, creative thinking, and – as a result – stellar accomplishments. We have a Wellness Room where employees can take time out and meditate, relax, and just get away from their desks for some quiet time. Collaboration areas with whiteboard walls and round tables, are scattered throughout the space, providing settings where solutions to our customers’ biggest headaches are born.
Phacil has high expectations for employee performance – rewards are high, as well. We embody a culture of mentorship, opportunity, and employee development. Executive management’s doors are always open and they rely on employees’ feedback and suggestions to continue innovating and delivering jaw-dropping results for our customers. For example, on November 11, 2014, Phacil hosted a Veterans Day recognition breakfast to recognize the more than 188 veterans presently employeed at Phacil.

HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
At Phacil, we are committed to our employees health and well-being. One of the benefits that are a part of the Phacil culture is that employees are reimbursed for their gym memberships.

At our corporate office in Arlington, VA, which is open to all Phacil employees nationwide, we feature an employee "Wellness Room."
This room was designed for employees to take time out and meditate, relax, care for newborns, and just to get away from their desks for some quiet time.
This new 20,000 square foot office was designed with the employee in mind. Featuring a gym, a large "galley" and kitchen area. Ample refridgeration space, snacks and refreshments. The new Corporate office located at 800 N Glebe is open to all employees in the company
The rear of the space features a high top work area in the back facing the Arlington treeline and westward. This area is a nice "touch down" area for employees to take their laptops and get away from their desks should they choose to do so. We call it the "Starbucks Bar."
Summer months traditionally bring increased work hours as employees committ to building the business and recognize the rewards that come from this effort.
During the summer months, with extended work hours, Phacil contributes by providing lunches several times a week and an abundance of drinks and snacks at most of it's facilities nationwide.
Phacil also has several sports and team activities that are sponsored. Like our "Flag-football" team. Employees are encouraged to join and it is a fun way to spend time outside of the office creating lasting friendships while cultivating the Phacil team spirit.

I applied online – interviewed at Phacil, Inc..Interview Details
I applied online after finding it through a web search and was contacted two to three weeks later by a company recruiter to set up an initial phone interview. The recruiter was 15 minutes late to the call and spent most of the interview seemingly trying to dissuade me from wanting to work there; he described it as an extremely intense work atmosphere in which nearly everyone is Type A and the leadership shifts blame onto others for mistakes. After the interview, I was no longer terribly interested in the position but did not want to shut the door on it. I was contacted for a second interview, which I was unable to make due to prior travel arrangements, and I figured that was the end of it. The hiring managers then reached out personally to interview me and offered me the position on the spot. They seemed much more capable and friendly than I'd been warned, and I decided to accept the position.
Then approximately two weeks before I was going to move across the country to begin work, I received a call that the company no longer had the budget to hire any of the people they had, in fact, just hired.
Overall, the interview process, the hiring process, and the "unhiring" process were incredibly unprofessional and I feel as though I dodged a bullet here.Interview Questions
