Every day, too many people miss out on the beauty and richness of life: A morning cup of coffee, reading to a grandchild, noticing a neighbor’s garden while out for a walk. These are treasures when someone has the strength, vitality, and opportunity to enjoy them. However, to a person dealing with life-threatening illness, opportunities like these can be erased by the overwhelming struggle to regain health and hold on to hope.
At Pharmacyclics, our every effort is directed to bringing new therapies to life: treatments that help people return to the lives they love as quickly and easily as possible. We believe there is nothing more powerful than giving back in this way. We believe there is nothing more valuable than turning hope into reality and allowing people to focus on the splendor in every day. This is what we call the magic of normal—and we want this for as many people as possible.
WHO WE ARE
We are the visionaries and innovators who believe anything is possible and we are not afraid to reach for the stars even when others see only darkness. We are changing the story for people impacted by cancer and immune-mediated inflammatory diseases. We are true allies of patients and caregivers who face serious unmet medical needs. We uphold our commitment through an unwavering determination to develop transformative medicines whose safety, efficacy, and tolerability outweigh their risks. We do this not because it is easy but because it is right, and because helping others is integral to what we believe.
To build a viable biopharmaceutical company that develops and commercializes novel therapies intended to improve quality of life, increase duration of life, and resolve serious medical needs. We will do so by identifying and controlling promising product candidates based on exceptional scientific development and administrational expertise, developing our products in a rapid, cost-efficient manner, and pursuing commercialization and/or development partners when and where appropriate. We exist to make a difference for the better and these are important times to do just that.
"We strive to be professional across all that we do. We realize that competence involves observation, study and practice. We realize that knowledge is as valuable as it is applied to improving conditions we face.
We realize that by assuming responsibility, we open ourselves up to new ability. We believe in open two-way communication.
We believe that a problem defined is a problem that can be resolved. We believe that at its core, innovation means to introduce change: “in” means enter and “novate” means to change or replace. We believe each of us is capable of innovation.
We believe in transparency. We believe in performing our duties in 100% compliance with the regulations that govern our activities.
We strive for our medicines to serve as allies to patients and caregivers that face serious unmet healthcare needs. We are committed to scientific and administrative excellence, integrity and doing what it takes to make things go right.
We believe 'making a difference for the better' is a source of unparalleled joy.
— Robert W. Duggan, Chairman and CEO
Working together to make a difference for the better
Our people are our greatest asset. Passion, innovation, collaboration, and determination drive our culture. “Can’t” is not in our vocabulary because we believe that anything is possible and that mediocrity is not an option.
We realize that by assuming responsibility, we open ourselves up to new ability. We believe in shared two-way communication.
At Pharmacyclics, we strive to develop and commercialize novel therapies that make a difference for the betterment of patients. This creates opportunities for our employees that allow them to do the best work of their careers as they contribute their expertise toward developing cures for disease areas with significant unmet medical needs.
Our culture is the expression of who we are, what we stand for and how willing we are to be of service to others.
We believe that attracting, developing, and retaining a base of employees that reflects the diversity of our customers is essential to our success. We believe every one of us has the potential to become a genius. Together, we are a team of high performers who respect and value each other’s unique talents.
We believe that a problem defined is a problem that can be resolved.

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Pharmacyclics (Sunnyvale, CA) in September 2015.
I found the job on Indeed.Com and applied. Was contacted by their internal recruiter within 2 days. Phone interview w him went well. Interviewed by phone w the hiring mgr within a week; went well. Onsite scheduled for 2 weeks later. Met with 7 ppl; great personalities, smart, driven, nice. I asked them about their poor Glassdoor rating. They said yes, all those things happened, but their dept was supportive and not part of that dysfunction, especially lately. Their med affairs leadership seemed competent and nice. I think this would be a great place to work within Med Affairs; I have concerns about how many "difficult people" I will be forming relationships with. However, I think the new mgMt there is concerned about culture, and that the next set of people hired will make a real difference.
