Drug development firm Pharmacyclics wants to support suicide in cancerous cells. Its lead candidate MGd is designed to induce apoptosis, or cell death, in cancer cells. It is being developed as a stand-alone therapy and in combination with chemotherapy and radiation for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer and other cancers.
