I have been working at Pillar Technology Group full-time for more than 3 years

Pillar has a widely diversified team of talent that guarantees there are no team "heroes" instead you are on teams of equals. Everyone grows and learns from each other taking on incredibly difficult and real problems in the industry. Delivering business value is not just a motto it's a way of life for us.

Travel is nearly guaranteed for most employees unless you live in Columbus or Ann Arbor. In addition Pillar is going through growth pain which means there is occasional culture clash. Nothing that is abnormal for a highly successful company that is growing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to your foundations. Pillar was built on technical excellence and discipline. It's our key value when delivering agile at scale. Find a way to grade it in the organization if you are going to sell it at scale.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months - interviewed at Pillar Technology Group.

    Interview Details

Interview process was very slow. Had five separate interviews with at least a week in between each. First met with people in the role I was applying for, followed by the account manager, then the manager I'd report to, then the COO. None were softball interviews either, each one asked hard questions about how I'd handle certain coding situations or client problems.

    Interview Questions
    • A coding "kata" was assigned that I was then asked to iterate on. It ended up being a full-scale application with a working database, application layer, and nice UI. It was a lot of time, but it did give me a chance to show my design skills and dedication to craftsmanship.   Answer Question
