Lack of inspiration from managers and team leaders to do anything remotely cutting edge or interesting. Lack of funding for as well as understanding of the importance of the role that quality design work goes into a products success or failure. Stodgy and outdated management understanding of application development and design trends and their importance in gaining recognition by the market. Very difficult to hire quality ui developers on the front-end due to lack of public visibility of web applications.
Advice to Management
Encourage and nurture employee inspiration. Allow time for developer exploration of concepts and future possibilities, instead of always focusing on the next line item in the laundry list. Find a way to channel and encourage inspiration.
I applied online. The process took 2+ weeks. I interviewed at Power-One.
It started with a phone interview which basically concluded with basic information and achievements and education related questionnaire. Then I had to go to the site interview which took about 40 minutes. They asked me questions based on everything I had on my Resume. No personality or behavioral questions were asked.
