    Pros

High salary, excellent benefits, and generally very small, intimate teams with lots of industry expertise. Office location and amenities are commensurate with a world-class operation.

    Cons

You will work predictably long hours as a young employee (analyst/associate), with a lack of consensus among teams as to work culture. HR can be a black box. Lots of former regulatory staff coming into top ranks means limited growth potential and lack of meritocracy.

    Advice to Management

Seek to cultivate a more diverse culture of top staff, which will do more for the entire organization by injecting a more verdant work environment on projects. There are too many former regulators who all think the same way.

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 dayinterviewed at Promontory Financial Group (New York, NY) in March 2015.

    Interview

The interview process consisted of me speaking with 2 different employees of Promontory. Overall the process was fairly easy. They asked me a few generic questions and they turned the questions of to me. With each employee we spoke for about a half hour.
