QVC was founded in 1986 by Joseph Segel, an entrepreneur who saw an opportunity to create a new and engaging shopping experience through television broadcasts. He named the company QVC to represent its three guiding principles: Quality, Value, and Convenience. These values were created to build trust with consumers, creating lifetime, avid fans.
Today, QVC is the world's leading video and ecommerce retailer, offering a curated collection of desirable brands to millions of customers around the globe each day through broadcast, Internet, and mobile sales platforms. QVC is the world's top multimedia shopping company in terms of viewers and revenue and ranks among the top online mass merchandise retailers. QVC's 2013 sales generated $8.6B in annual revenues, $3.2B of which came from ecommerce.
In 2013, 31% of ecommerce orders came from mobile platforms. QVC is ranked as the #3 largest mobile commerce retailer among multi-category retailers, and #5 across all industries according to the 2015 Internet Retailer Mobile 500 list.
QVC is available in 300 million homes worldwide through its broadcast programming in the U.S., U.K., Germany, Japan, Italy and a joint venture in China. QVC shipped more than 169 million products in 2013 to these markets.
QVC has an impressive TV presence in all of its markets. QVC personalities host themed shows throughout the day engaging viewers, highlighting products in different categories, and providing shoppers with useful information in an entertaining format.
QVC is more than just live video content. It is changing the way the world shops by re-imagining shopping, entertainment and social as one. Leveraging its multichannel platforms, QVC is enabling its customers to customize their experiences. Plus, QVC has created a family of mobile shopping applications for smartphones and tablets. Leveraging social networks, QVC has well over two million Facebook fans around the world who blog, comment, “like”, and share 24/7.
Many of our products have features that are exclusive to QVC and its customers. Leading product categories include beauty, electronics, home goods, apparel and accessories, and jewelry.
Based outside of Philadelphia in West Chester, PA, QVC has 17,000 employees worldwide. The company has state-of-the-art broadcast and ecommerce operations at its corporate headquarters, known as "Studio Park," as well as studios in all its global markets.
QVC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Liberty Interactive Corporation (NASDAQ: QVCA, QVCB). Liberty Interactive Corporation took full ownership of QVC in 2003 when it bought the portion of the company that had been owned by Comcast.
QVC is a company built on a strong foundation of beliefs called The QVC Difference that are at the heart of our success.
The QVC Difference is woven into the fabric of our culture, defining the attitude and conviction that unites everyone at QVC. These principles empower our employees with the initiative to develop new ideas and the accountability to see them through. More than a collection of ideals, The QVC Difference serves as a reminder of what made us successful in the past and acts as a guidepost for the future.

I worked at QVC full-time (less than a year)Pros
I really enjoyed my time at QVC. I thought they put a lot of trust in their employees to make decisions regarding their particular job duties - i.e. there wasn't a lot of micro-managing going on, like I've seen in other companies. The company provided a lot of perks and benefits and had relaxed atmosphere.Cons
The technology in my department was a little on the out-dated side, especially for a company as large as QVC.RecommendsPositive OutlookNo opinion of CEO

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks – interviewed at QVC.Interview Details
Interviews are very typical in that they are situational in nature (tell me about yourself, strengths, weaknesses, past job experiences, etc.) However, the company thrives on relationships and how you plan to collaborate (befriend in this company) individuals in other departments. I can not express enough how important it will be for you to elaborate on your ability to work with others. In addition, the company is constantly changing. The employees commonly joke that Q-V-C stands for "Quick-Violent-Change". With that said, it is important to touch on your ability to work effectively in an ever changing environment. The company consistently promotes their 8 core values (Transparency, Communications, Respect, Trust, Fun Along The Way, etc.) I would not hurt to touch upon how you have operated in these areas in past employment.
QVC goes through great lengths to insure every candidate is a "good fit". Therefore you will likely have in excess of 8-10 interviews before you are made an offer.
Ask for your top dollar during negotiations because pay increase is enormously slow once you are in the organization.
Step 1-phone interview with HR recruiter who gives information to the hiring manager
Step 2- phone interview with the hiring manager
Step 3- 1:1 with the HR recruiter and the hiring manager (same day, but separate interviews)
Step 4- A day of interviewing with several individuals (VPs, Directors, etc., they will all be separate interviews)
Step 5 - More days of interviewing with several individuals (these will be executives you will work with. They will all be separate interviews)
Step 6 - Offer of employment
If you are hired, expect your first day to be a day of filling out paperwork and receiving feedback on the QVC culture and the QVC way of doing things. They generally have several (15-30) people start work on the same day. You will all be from varying backgrounds, being place throughout the company. They will bring in IT security to explain the QVC IT rules and standards, you will receive your badge, and get a tour of the company.
The next 3 months of your employment will consist of onboarding and 1 on 1 meetings with various individuals throughout the organization. This will be arranged by your superior to get you acclimated with the organization. At this time you will likely be told you are not allowed to do any type of work, to just "learn". One thing that is not mentioned is that all your opinions and ideas SHOULD NOT be expressed during your 90 days of onboarding. QVC does not receive the feedback of new hires very well. They believe you can not contribute ideas or opinions until you learn and understand the "QVC way" of doing things. Not following this unwritten rule can hurt your brand early in the game (a work hazard you may never be able to recover from).Interview Questions
