RAC doesn't advocate racing but it's all about everything automotive in the UK. RAC is best known for providing roadside assistance for stranded motorists in the UK. It serves some 7 million customers with services and products ranging from advice on buying and maintaining cars to basic property insurance (including auto, home, and motorbike). The group also offers drivers' training courses, vehicle inspections, route planning for trips, and windshield repair. RAC is held by The Carlyle Group. The RAC name comes from a former owner, the UK's Royal Automobile Club.
