  • Good people, but failing company

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in Stamford, CT

I worked at RBS Greenwich Capital full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people are nice and easy to get along with. It's a good place to start your career. My role allowed me to grow and learn a lot. Even though it can be a somewhat dysfunctional environment, you learn a great deal, which gives you the necessary skills to grow your career elsewhere. They have good benefits in terms of PTO, maternity and paternity leave, 401(k) matching. Depending on the department you have a pretty good work/life balance for being in finance. Great on-site gym, café, cafeteria, dry-cleaning and store. Right next door to the Stamford train station, so commuting is easy.

    Cons

There is a lot of red tape and it can be extremely hard to get any big project accomplished. In order to get anything approved you have to get multiple approvals, which can be unnecessary and time consuming. Lack of bonuses over the years has increased turnover.
