Some very hard working and dedicated employees, but the hard work and contributions are rarely acknowledged. Most of the people that work there are great and highly educated and most come in thinking this is the position for their career, but internal promotions almost never happen and if you upset a senior team member, any one of them, you're history.
Extreme toxic environment where you are told the company is a big "family", but then they routinely will fire someone with no warning and not send out any notice when they are gone. In my family, if someone just stopped showing up one day, I'd really like to know about it.
Advice to Management
Listen to what employees are telling you - one department head has had complaints one after another about how they treat their employees - yelling, unorganized, not proactive - extremely reactive, very bias toward pretty girls, but mean and unfair to all others, constant turnover, very unrealistic expectations, long hours, and much more. The senior staff knows of the behavior and accepts it completely and does not seem to care about problems or issues. If you complain, HR will go straight to that dept head and tell them what was said and who said it and amazingly in very short order, the person who complained is found to be incompetent and fired.
