I have been working at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It's a good experience to work as research assistant with a nice advisor. RPI has a very decent reputation and students may find good jobs in industry.

    Cons

The salary of research assistant is just so-so. You have to take care of the life expense. And some staffs in RPI don't work so efficiently.

    Interview

Informal, just talking to professors to see who is the right fit with the right research. The tougher part is the written application part of actually getting into RPI. It was all very relaxed.
