    Sales Assistant Interview

    Easy Interview

I applied online. I interviewed at River Island Clothing (Nuneaton, England (UK)).

Group interview, About 15 people there, we started with an ice breaker saying our names and when we have had bad customer service to which literally 12 people said they had never had bad customer service. Then put into pairs and one person had to be a sales assistant the other a customer and had to act out up selling after that we were given cards which had celebrities names on them and we had to go find the celebrity an outfit for a certain event then explain why we had picked the outfit. Finally a 5 minute 1 on 1 interview with the store manager. The whole concept was okay but the staff interviewing (store manager, Menswear manager and someone else) were extremely unprofessional, they gave no feedback to answers just nodded and wrote down your answers i assume on a piece of paper, there was a girl that had previously worked in another store with the store manager interviewing us and in the interview and they kept making jokes about other managers and insulting them, which made the whole thing seem very clicky and uncomfortable. No real information was provided about the job and it just seemed like they made up their minds as people walked in.
