    I have been working at Robert Half full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    I never thought I would work anywhere for as long as I have worked at Robert Half, but what keeps me here are the people. Nearly every leader I have worked with has been smart, supportive, fair and hard-working. The same is true for my colleagues. The average tenure in my department is 8 years, which is a testament to the people. I also appreciate the employee-friendly policies, like the ability to telecommute and the generous amount of vacation time provided. Robert Half encourages creativity and new ideas through employee "hack days" and the simple day-to-day willingness of company leaders to test new approaches. In the years I have been with Robert Half, I have continued to learn new things and stay actively engaged. I have had the opportunity to travel abroad and attend the best trainings in the industry, and I have made many friends thoughout the company.

    Cons

    Robert Half is not for everyone. For people who haven't worked in demanding environments before, it can be tough. The company is built on a strong work ethic. There isn't a lot of room for making errors: The culture tends to be one of perfectionism. The upside of this is that you can feel proud of your work and end up with great pieces for your professional portfolio. Also, the 401(k) is not as strong as it is at other companies, and the environment tends to be more formal versus casual, especially in the Menlo Park office.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    The enhanced benefits that were recently rolled out are great. Things like health savings accounts are very valuable! Please consider a take-your-dog-to-work policy. I know it's tough logistically, but there are a lot of dog lovers at Robert Half!

    Standard interview process. Writing test required. First interview with the direct manager who asked standard interview questions. Second interview with the SVP who asked about my abilities to perform the job and how my background related to the position. Third interview with the executive director who told me about his expectations and goals for the position.
