    Application Details

    I applied through a recruiter. The process took a weekinterviewed at Robert Half Management Resources in May 2014.

    Interview Details

    Since I am interviewing through them for contract positions it is a bit different than a 'normal job'. The contract team likes to control the interview with the client in that they have a tendency to sit in on the interview with the client, perhaps to make sure you don't go around them? I find it odd. It is really the employer who has the questions and not RHMR but the recruiter sitting in on the interview tries to control the flow of conversation, which is annoying. Sometimes you cannot get in a word edgewise with them there. On the flip side, I had great luck with the companies I interviewed with that the recruiter attended. Perhaps they steer the decision process, which isn't exactly fair to other firms but that was not my concern at that point.

    Interview Questions
    • As an experienced interviewer (having been on contract for 9 years) I don't find any of the questions difficult anymore. I cannot be helpful with this, however, there are companies out there on the net who educate you on the only 20 questions (in generality) that are asked (albeit in different ways) and what the employer is looking for, such as Interview Success Formula, for example. Services like this can be extremely helpful!   Answer Question
    Negotiation Details
    You have to ask for what you want and give them a minimum you will accept and then be OK with that. Tell them if you're in the running for higher offers because recruiters love to know their competition. RHMR is extremely competitive.
