Developing and training our staff is paramount at Rothstein Kass. We empower team members to take charge of their careers by providing the tools and resources they need to achieve their next level of professional growth at their own pace.

Rothstein Kass University, our dedicated training and development program, offers a variety of courses, seminars and networking events for every level of experience. Designed to develop our staff, professionally and personally, Rothstein Kass University provides specific training programs to team members as their technical and management responsibilities accelerate. Soft skills training programs are also available in-house and through external providers. Additionally, all of our professionals receive supplemental time off to sit for exams related to obtaining certifications in their respective fields.

In addition to training and certification facilitation, Rothstein Kass has programs in place to keep our team members moving forward as professionals and as individuals. Rothstein Kass’ Relationship Network offers specially created career-building opportunities to our team members and our alumni, including networking events, social activities, career guidance, technical training, and access to firm publications and other resources. Through various seasonal programs, Rothstein Kass gives students the ability to experience the accounting industry first-hand through direct exposure to our firm and the work we do.

Business Externship Program

The Business Externship Program is a one day summer program for students who have just finished their freshman year of college and plan to declare Accounting as their major. Participating students are given direct exposure to the field of public accounting at Rothstein Kass through a variety of activities, such as shadowing an accountant, team building, networking, and access to seasoned professionals for the purpose of Q&A about the profession and our firm. The Business Externship Program is offered in our New Jersey and New York offices.

Rising Junior Networking Event

The Rising Junior Networking Event is designed for students heading into their third year of college who are Accounting Majors.  This networking event is a one day program, which will take place during the summer.  It will provide you with a further introduction into public accounting and Rothstein Kass through a variety of events including networking with people at various levels of the firm.  At the end of this event, you will have a good understanding of what public accounting is as well as many new contacts at Rothstein Kass. This program is offered in our New Jersey and New York offices.

Summer Leadership Program

The Summer Leadership Program is designed for students in their Sophomore to Junior year of college, who are majoring in accounting.  The Summer Leadership Program is a three day program, which will take place over the summer.  This program is designed to teach you the details about Public Accounting as well as what a mid – sized firm can offer you in a career.  You will be assigned a buddy, which is someone who will be involved in the activities of the program as well as a contact for you to have in the industry.  Two days of The Summer Leadership Program will focus on a different area of Leadership and the third day will be a philanthropy day. It will consist of events such as shadowing an accountant, team building, panel discussions, involvement in a philanthropic activity and most importantly an opportunity to meet individuals at all levels within the firm.  At the end of the program you will have gained insight into leadership, Public Accounting and Rothstein Kass. The Summer Leadership Program is offered in our Beverly Hills, San Francisco, New York and New Jersey offices.

Summer and/or Winter Externship Program

The Externship Program is designed for students in their sophomore or junior year of college who are majoring in Accounting. The externship is a one day program that takes place over winter and/or summer break. It provides students with an introduction to public accounting at Rothstein Kass through a variety of events, such as shadowing a principal, team building activities, a panel discussion, and networking opportunities. Our Externship Program is an ideal opportunity for students who are not able to commit to a full-time internship during the winter. Our externship program is available in our New York and New Jersey offices.

Winter Internship Program

The Winter Internship Program is a full-time paid internship in public accounting. The internship, which runs from January through March, is available to junior-year college students majoring in Accounting. Students working toward their master degree in Accounting are also welcome to participate. Interns work on multiple audit engagements as well as some initial tax preparation, working very closely with staff, senior and manager level team members. Winter Internships are offered on a full time basis in our Boston, Dallas, Denver, New York and New Jersey offices, and on a part time basis in our Beverly Hills office.

Summer Internship Program

The Summer Internship Program is an eight week internship for accounting majors about to enter their senior year of college or begin their 5th year. It is a paid internship that runs from June through August. Throughout the internship, we offer students the opportunity to work with and shadow several people throughout the firm. Summer internships are available in our New Jersey, New York, Denver, Dallas, San Francisco, Boston and Beverly Hills offices.

National Case Competition

The national case competition is held at various schools across the country during the spring semester and we invite all Accounting students who would like to participate in this competition to join! Winning teams from each school will receive a monetary prize as well as an opportunity to complete nationally for a grand prize. A list of schools and more information will be released in January 2013.

    I applied online, submitted my resume, and was selected for an on campus interview. It is very important to network with the professionals before the application process. This allows them to receive your resume beforehand and helps them remember you as they are going through applications. There was only one round of interviews for the SLP. It was very casual, not very many behavioral questions. Mostly questions regarding personal/professional background--mainly to get to know you.
