I applied online. I interviewed at Royal Mail (Preston, North West England, England (UK)).
I have just been for an interview today. The interview was carried out one on one with the manager, who began by explaining the job role, and the interview process. This was followed with the security checks. There were then 6 questions, based on using work and life experience to show certain skills. I found that they were worded unusually but the manager was very keen to explain what they were looking for and prompted further answers if he felt he needed more information. Basically, you use experience to think of a time it happened, what happened, and how this affected the outcome - one was an example of team work, another was resilience and there was one on dealing with an angry/upset customer. There are 3 others which I can't recall. There were then some very basic questions, such as any experience working in bad weather conditions, what checks would you make on the vehicle (oil, water, brakes, seatbelt, lights etc), what role you can take in ensuring health and safety (hazards, uniform etc), why you want to work for royal mail, are you flexible in your working hours? I was told it would take 7 - 10 days before I find out the outcome, and they gave lots of information on holidays, wages, hours.
