Amazing support and ability to prove yourself. Projects are very inclusive and not over the top. Any trouble you come across, any member of the department, or even others for that matter, are happy to help. Wonderful for those with good experience in power distribution, or just getting started. My employer was very happy to have me pick up more projects from different departments as I went along too. Very great experience for young engineers looking for real-world experience.

Not many other interns so it is important to gain meaningful relationships with the full-time employees. It is a tight-knit company and not a lot of crossover department to department, which can be seen as good or bad.

    Advice to Management

Although internships vary within each division of S&C, keep offering opportunities for all the co-ops and interns to meet and learn from each other. The lunches where I learned what my peers were also doing were helpful in guiding me to see what I liked doing and what I could see myself doing in the future. Overall, great program though.

I applied online. The process took 1 dayinterviewed at S&C Electric.

Set up a skype interview within about a week of application. Interviewed with both the software manager and engineer, asking technical questions about programming. Few behavioral questions as well, such as how you operate under a team. Overall it was not entirely out of the ordinary, although interviewers seemed rude at times.
