SABMiller – Why Work For Us?

SABMiller is a global leader in the beer and soft drinks business, bringing refreshment and sociability to millions of people all over the world who enjoy our drinks, and we do business in a way that improves livlihoods and builds communities.

We are passionate about brewing and have a long tradition of craftsmanship in making superb beer from high quality natural ingredients.  We are local beer experts, producing more than 200 local beers most of which are freshly brewed from locally-grown ingredients and only sold locally by our emerging and developed market businesses.  We also brew internationally famous beers such as Peroni Nastro Azzurro, Pilsner Urquell, Miller Genuine Draft and Grolsch.  We produce our own soft drinks as well as beer and are one of the world's largest bottlers of Coca-Cola drinks.

SABMiller plc is in the top 20 companies listed on the London and Johannesburg stock exchanges and we are present in more than 80 countries with around 70,000 employees.  SABMiller is the world's second largest brewing company and the leading or number two brewer in more than 90% of our markets.  Every minute of every day, close to 140,000 bottles of SABMiller beer are sold and we have more beer brands in the world's top 50 than any other brewer.

We've become a global leader by excelling locally - nurturing strong, local brands and building brand portfolios that meet the specific needs of consumers in each of our markets.  We have a deep respect for local cultures and values, and strive to be a positive influence on the lives of our consumers, customers and the communities in which we operate.

"Improving the speed and quality of executive decisions is the main objective of the digital project I am leading. We are developing a business intelligence and analytics solution that will provide our executives with the accurate and timely information they need to make better decisions."

Gordon Downes,  Executive Assistant to the President, Digital Projects Manager, LatAm Hub

“Being surrounded by people with a ‘can-do’ attitude and a passion for our beers results in a constructive working environment and an inclusive team work ethic where efforts are recognised and your contribution feels like more than a small cog in a big machine.”

Richard Farnsworth, Business Media Relations Manager, Group

“The customer marketing team plays an important role in helping to bring the voice of the shopper, & the needs of our customers, into our business plans. We are champions of working collaboratively to grow the category & deliver ‘Win-Win-Win’ solutions that meet with needs of CUB, the customer, & our consumers/shoppers.”

Kylie Egbers, National Manager Customer Marketing Off Premise, Carlton & United   Breweries, Australia

We’ll provide the opportunity if you’re willing to put in the effort…

Whether you are interested in working in one of our markets or prefer to join one of our global teams, you’ll be working in one of our functions, markets or global teams.

“What has impressed me most about SABMiller is their professionalism and expert technical knowledge but also their absolute clarity of purpose, integrity and confidence on their chosen path to brew the best quality beers using world class systems and processes.  My first impressions of SAB Miller have not turned out to be wrong and I am proud to be working for most admired company in the brewing industry.”

Grahame Money, Brewing Manager CUB Yatala, Australia

“I was looking for a company where people can really make difference. SABMiller has strong brands, great market presence and a clear vision how to make a world better. It is highly motivating to work in an industry with such a product as beer - which has a long history and I believe a bright future ahead.”

Miroslava Remenarova, Corporate Affairs Manager, Slovakia

“We add value by maintaining profitable revenue growth.   Finance has been at the forefront in leading the strategy through quantifying opportunity assessments as well as risk. We do this via real time financial insights in actual portfolio performance reconciliation to plan based on  strategic marketing objectives as well as value chain optimisation.”

Peter Hamilton Kgomotso, Finance Manager, Botswana

“At SABMiller, HR is engrained in the business and acts as a true business partner. We love our brands, but our most important asset is our people. Whether it is manufacturing world-class beer, selling or delivering quality, there are people involved and HR ensures we do all with excellence.”

Luis e. Cardenas, Senior Human Resources Manager, Sales and Distribution Services, Miller Coors, USA

“At SABMiller you have the opportunity to work across many cultures and locations, which brings excitement and diversity to your day to day working life. People working here are passionate about the company, the products and the people in the organisation. I have never worked for a company with the level of intellect, pride and dedication as I have seen here. “

Nicole Schloegl, Global Services Management Tools and Processes Manager, Global IS, UK

“What makes it special to work for SABM is to have huge technical fraternity behind you and if you have a question or problem you can be sure one of your colleagues around the globe can help you.  The company empowers you as individual to influence various processes or big projects with your ideas. It’s you as an individual who counts.”

Franz Schepping, Technical Director, Zambia

“I especially love the challenge of the pseudo dark marketing environment that Botswana exists in currently .It has stretched me in ways I didn’t imagine I would and could be stretched.  With so many “cannots” based on legislation and self-governance it was very exciting to be given the latitude to create “why nots?”

Amakura Erbynn, Marketing Manager, Botswana

“The Sales Capability role has given me the opportunity to pull together different departments within the sales team and further develop individual’s knowledge, skills and behaviours. Collaborating with various people in sales, marketing and category insights also allows the Capability Team to deal with all different facets of the business.”

Leigh Forsey, Sales Capability Manager, Carlton and United Breweries, Australia

"The factor which influenced my decision to join SABMiller was the level of emotional engagement demonstrated by the individuals I met through the selection process. People from across the organisation, who cared passionately about the business and were proud to say they worked for SABMiller."

Natasha Lee, VP Procurement, Professional Business Services, Switzerland

Top professionals in a very dynamic environment. Driven by the need to be best in class, every day is learning experience.

Work life balance is difficult to achieve. Strong leaders that tend to leave little room for discussion. Training and skill development is not a priority
