I have been working at SADA Systems full-time (More than 3 years)
Leadership: While at times inconsistent, the company is moving toward much brighter future. Previously, SADA had been somewhat rudderless and without a clear structure/growth process. Now, leadership is stronger than before and has a clearer direction. Growth in the company is strong and its leaders are listening to their employees more than ever. Personal Growth: I've been at this company for some time now and the opportunity for personal advancement is there--if you want it, and if you deserve it. The growth structure had not been fully defined for some time after I initially started, but now there's a clear path forward. SADA really looks to grow from within whenever possible. Culture: As with most tech companies these days, a majority of the employees are younger (20s-30s). Everyone gets along fairly well and I haven't seen a lot of disputes amongst employees. Lunch is catered twice a week, unlimited PTO is available (for those who can take it--more on that later), and employees get together for lunch or after work drinks all the time. This is not a typical "corporate" culture--people here are pretty easy-going and lax (when appropriate). To the reviewer who says that all positive reviews are written by HR: Absolutely not true. RE Craigslist: Do you know what other companies always have openings? Google, Apple, Microsoft, etc., the list goes on. SADA is a growing company. A growing company is always hiring. NOTE: SADA is not perfect nor is anywhere close to competing with those companies, but the point is still valid.
As you may have noticed in the Pros section, the company has sometimes lacked direction. I believe it is now moving in a positive direction. But there's still work to be done. The company has traditional rewarded its salespeople more than its deployment/development teams. Recognition and compensation are becoming more in line with actual employee value, but this is improving. Unlimited PTO is nice, but when your employees are this busy, then it's difficult to use it. This is another work in progress (and why there are always job postings in craigslist, although I'm still not sure who's looking at craigslist for jobs). Because of the tremendous growth of the company, we are extremely busy and a lot is asked of us. This can be a lot of stress, and some people can handle that, others cannot. It also makes it easier to weed out good employees vs. less good employees. You are sometimes put through the fire, without a lot of direction, and it will be up to you to make sure you find the answers. If you're looking for a cushy job where you just do the bare minimum of what is asked of you--this probably isn't the job for you. If you are eager to learn, understanding of the growing pains of a smaller company, and willing to tackle any challenge that's thrown at you--you are probably a right fit for this company (such HR speak I know, but I am so far from being a member of HR).
Getting an Interview
Getting an Interview
- No OfferNegative ExperienceAverage Interview
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at SADA Systems (North Hollywood, CA) in August 2015.
It felt more like an interrogation than an actual interview. Constant questions about my personal life, and I felt like the interviewer was questioning my life decisions rather than actually getting to know my situation or me. I also had a feeling he was winging the interview because he asked a question twice.
- I have a lot of people applying for this position, give me 2 reasons why I should hire you right now. Answer Question
