SG Supply is a family-owned business, and the owners are knowledgeable about all of their employees on a personal level. Both management and the owners of this fast-paced company take the time to understand their employees' needs, respond compassionately to personal issues with lenient time off and generous financial benefits. Every employee is respected and treated like a professional, with more than adequate training and orientation provided upon hire, and limitless opportunities to increase income, if you are willing to work for it.
The only downside of working at this company is that many of the employees have been working there a very long time, and a few of the more complacent ones may not be receptive to a young, up-and-coming professional stepping in and out-performing them with the customers. If you are not an upbeat person with people skills, or if you are lazy, then this is not the company for you. You will not do well if you cannot bring integrity, professionalism, and enthusiasm to this job every day.
Advice to Management
As a former employee who left SG Supply on good terms several years ago, my advice to management would be to not let the less happy employees take advantage of both the company's financial generosity and leniency/loyalty toward long-time employees, despite some declining work performance and negative attitudes. Keep finding small ways to boost morale within the company, even if it means making it clear to the negative employees that bad morale is bad for business and won't be tolerated. SG Supply is called "The Country Club" for a reason: The employees are treated with the utmost respect and always furnished with the latest technologies and updated office equipment with which to not only do their job, but to enjoy the time they spend doing their job, as much as possible.
