    I worked at SSA Marine full-time (More than 5 years)


    SSA has great benefits and if you get good at your job you can really coast.


    The only way to get ahead is to suck-up to everyone or be related to someone in a union. A LOT of upper management has no idea what they're doing and got put in that position because loyalty is valued higher than performance. Doing a really good job doesn't get you anywhere.

    Advice to Management

    Be more active in understanding what your employees do and what makes good vs. bad employees. Stop promoting idiots into management positions. Shake things up once in a while.
