I worked at Scholastic Book Fairs part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great company. Great job with room for advancement and full-time opportunities. Friendly co-workers and management with a values based ethic.

    Cons

It's a warehouse and the job entails bending, stocking, standing, loading and unloading freight and, occasionally getting dirty, as with all warehouses.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This was a really great company for which to work. I respect the sense of values you promote there and appreciated the opportunity.

    Sales Consultant Interview

    Application Details

I applied in-person. The process took a dayinterviewed at Scholastic Book Fairs.

    Interview Details

the culture of the branch was odd. It appeared they only hire management that can mistreat employees and be "not present" and unaware of employees. When I was hired I was told I would not be laid off (stand-by) for the summer. However, I was. What they tell you at the time of the interview turns out to never be true. They tend to give as little information as possible and will say we will get more information later. Later never comes.

    Interview Questions
    • Having Sales Manager ask us to help the General Manager because "his butt is on the line for not getting fair count". Odd since Sales Consultants are terminated for not obtaining their goals and the GM did not present himself to care about his employees.   Answer Question
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
