I have been working at Shazam Entertainment full-time for less than a year

I have really enjoyed my time at Shazam so far. While the company is optimizing the music experience, they are also looking towards the future in other media. This presents a great combination of short-term execution projects and long-term "moon shot" projects to sink your teeth into. While it's not a large company like Google or Amazon, they still provide a lot of the benefits like free lunches, office parties, and games at the office.

The only thing that could be considered a downside so far is how spread out the company is. With offices in LA, NY, London, Menlo Park, and elsewhere, communication is key. If you are the type of person that needs to talk face-to-face, then this could be a challenge (though you'll likely find similar challenges at many tech companies).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep focusing on the long-term to establish Shazam outside of just music.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Shazam Entertainment.

    Interview Details

A very communicative and relatively quick process. Started with a phone screen, then a talk with my manager. After that they flew me to the office to meet most of the team. Nothing crazy like case questions, just picking my brain about the industry and product I'd be working on. Very fluid process throughout!

Again, very straightforward. We had a discussion about expectations and arrived at a very fair number. The company wants you to be happy!
