We have a clear and strong patient-focused culture where we all strive to be BRAVE:

Resilient: We are agile and adaptable to meet the changing needs of our stakeholders
Accountable: We deliver on our promises to all of our stakeholders
Visionary: We fearlessly innovate to address unmet patient need
Ethical: We do the right thing, in the right way
We believe that there’s a better future for the people we help. And for us that means being brave enough to do things differently.
Being at Shire means exploring the road less traveled, alongside other individuals who aspire to be brave in the way that they approach their work and serve our patients.
We trust each other to make progress together, leveraging a true sense of urgency and a spirited determination to expand our global footprint. We encourage each other to take measured risks and collaborate in new and innovative ways.
At Shire, we are fostering a work environment that values innovation and creative thinking. This means going where others won’t go, with a willingness to try something different. Embracing change is a true hallmark of our history and culture, as we acquire and develop new strategic assets, evolve and transform our infrastructure, and attract and develop top talent for the future.
The employees of Shire are passionate about patient outcomes. We thrive on the challenge of enabling people with life-altering conditions to lead better lives. Most important of all, we get up each day with a belief in what we do. And the brave patients we do it for.
Shire is experiencing phenomenal growth as a specialty biopharmaceutical company. We have a strong track record of regulatory approvals, successful global product launches, and a robust pipeline of new drugs in various phases of development. It is our goal to further expand our global footprint and to continue to attract, develop, and retain top talent. Shire is moving opportunistically forward and you can come along.
Collaboration, experimentation, and a shared belief in our work is why Shire has seen such successful results. Not only are we pioneering new treatments for conditions like ADHD and ulcerative colitis, we’re creating innovative therapies for orphan diseases that affect small and otherwise overlooked populations.
Each day, the people of Shire go to work with an attitude of determination driven by the needs of the patients and specialists we serve. We speak out, make decisions, and stand by them, knowing that if we are not brave, nothing extraordinary will happen.
Positive change is the hallmark of our culture. That’s why we challenge each other to break away from typical pharma expectations. Everyone at Shire has the opportunity to make a real impact… and you can too.

I applied online. The process took 3+ months – interviewed at Shire Pharmaceuticals.
Contacted by recruiter, had several phone screens with true Shire professionals (managers/AD/Director) and received acknowledgement of my candidacy and positive feedback which resulted in moving forward with a full day onsite interview with 2 separate panels (4 panel video interview with PA team followed by 4 panel F2F with the MA team). The video call began with technical issues where the security person had to contact IT support to reconnect the system and resulted in a delayed started with PA panel. During the interview the call was disconnected, the panel quickly called back but had also dialed into another video call. The technical issues created confusion, delays and distractions. Overall, the video conference was chaotic, unproductive and more importantly the immense feeling of "disconnect", more so with the panel than the system. The tension and discontent between PA and MA hubs quickly became obvious, causing a bit of uneasiness and "caught in between the two" feeling. The MA panel was engaging, informative, delightful and professional. Few days later, my recruiter called and informed me that although the feedback from MA panel was positive, the PA panel was insufficient (no shock there) and wanted to schedule another F2F with a different PA panel. A week later my recruiter informed me that they will not be moving forward with my candidacy. Although this news was disappointing, I am grateful for the experience and opportunity. It's hard not to feel that the contention between the hubs and unproductive video call played a large role and unfair approach in the decision making.
