We have a clear and strong patient-focused culture where we all strive to be BRAVE:
Bold: We have the courage to lead the way
Resilient: We are agile and adaptable to meet the changing needs of our stakeholders
Accountable: We deliver on our promises to all of our stakeholders
Visionary: We fearlessly innovate to address unmet patient need
Ethical: We do the right thing, in the right way
We believe that there’s a better future for the people we help. And for us that means being brave enough to do things differently.
Being at Shire means exploring the road less traveled, alongside other individuals who aspire to be brave in the way that they approach their work and serve our patients.
We trust each other to make progress together, leveraging a true sense of urgency and a spirited determination to expand our global footprint. We encourage each other to take measured risks and collaborate in new and innovative ways.
At Shire, we are fostering a work environment that values innovation and creative thinking. This means going where others won’t go, with a willingness to try something different. Embracing change is a true hallmark of our history and culture, as we acquire and develop new strategic assets, evolve and transform our infrastructure, and attract and develop top talent for the future.
The employees of Shire are passionate about patient outcomes. We thrive on the challenge of enabling people with life-altering conditions to lead better lives. Most important of all, we get up each day with a belief in what we do. And the brave patients we do it for.
Shire is experiencing phenomenal growth as a specialty biopharmaceutical company. We have a strong track record of regulatory approvals, successful global product launches, and a robust pipeline of new drugs in various phases of development. It is our goal to further expand our global footprint and to continue to attract, develop, and retain top talent. Shire is moving opportunistically forward and you can come along.
Collaboration, experimentation, and a shared belief in our work is why Shire has seen such successful results. Not only are we pioneering new treatments for conditions like ADHD and ulcerative colitis, we’re creating innovative therapies for orphan diseases that affect small and otherwise overlooked populations.
Each day, the people of Shire go to work with an attitude of determination driven by the needs of the patients and specialists we serve. We speak out, make decisions, and stand by them, knowing that if we are not brave, nothing extraordinary will happen.
Positive change is the hallmark of our culture. That’s why we challenge each other to break away from typical pharma expectations. Everyone at Shire has the opportunity to make a real impact… and you can too.

I applied online. The process took 2+ months – interviewed at Shire Pharmaceuticals.Interview Details
Quick process, 2 skype interviews, called to arrange travel for final interview at corporate office, during interim week received new hire paperwork to fill out, drug test info sent and completed by me at lab, called by "training" to discuss fleet car, computer, ipad, cell, training process - flew to corporate, all day interview with over-the-top positive feedback from all interviewers - 10 days later had heard nothing......... checked my SPAM folder to find an "Automated Manager" email with one line: "Thank you for sharing your background with us, but we've decided to keep your information on file for future possible matches".... WHAT??? Wow. An upper 6-figure job gets a SPAM email and not even the courtesy of a call to explain anything... I just thought it was pretty unprofessional... otherwise, I really liked the company, the people, the products, but MAN, they need to work on their professional hiring process... That was a very ugly ending, when it didn't have to be... Oh well, NEXT!Interview Questions
