Sims Metal is an interesting industry to work in. It's a pretty relaxed work place were jeans and a polo are fine. Have lots of great co-workers that make work fun. Lots of locations across the U.S so the ability to move up is there if you're willing to relocate. Overall work-life balance is pretty good as well and health benefits are very good.

You need to be patient as the company tends to take their time when it comes to decisions regarding promotions, pay raises, and annual bonus. When they do finally come through it's not exactly what they originally agreed to.

    Advice to Management

Employees aren't just numbers. Don't expect commitment, hard work, and dedication from employees if you're not going to fulfill promises.

I applied online – interviewed at Sims Group in March 2013.

Hiring process right from the candidate experience to Icims and on boarding to new employee orientation was very thorough. It took a few weeks to get the first response from the recruiter
