Good company as long as you know that it's a law firm.

    I worked at Skadden Arps

    Great environment
    Great people
Great amenities, even for the support staff
    Matching 401k
    Support staff aren't entirely overworked

I worked overnight as support staff, so it was normal for me to see the amount of work the attorneys put in. It just seems unfair: if you're in at 9am I shouldn't see you at 11am.

    Application Details

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Skadden Arps.

    Interview Details

obtained an interview via law school interview program. the staff was welcoming but the offices were extremely intimidating. the interview itself was quite brief - i met with two lawyers independently - and it felt more pro forma than a serious interview. i specifically met for about 30 minutes each with 2 senior attorneys, both of whom seemed to be going through the motions and not terribly engaged in the hiring process.

    Interview Questions
    • the questions were not difficult; rather, they questioned why i was looking in boston (i am from the midwest) and whether i would truly be willing to stay in the city post-graduation from law school.   Answer Question

    Neutral Experience

Have you heard about the law firm that sued the business-information publisher for a profile that opened with a wickedly clever lawyer joke? Neither have we, and we would like to keep it that way. Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, a leading US law firm and one of the largest in the world, has some 2,000 attorneys in some 25 offices around the globe, from Boston to Beijing and from London to Los Angeles. The firm is best known for its work in mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, and corporate finance, but it represents businesses in a wide variety of... More
