I have been working at Skanska USA Building full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Skanska is a company with competitive salaries, high moral value, integrity and an excellent record for safety which is critical for a construction management firm

    Cons

Due to its sheer size, there is little contact from Senior management with the employees and it can often create the feeling of isolation on projects as is common with construction firms

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should consider spedning more time with the employees and give a better indication of company progress, pursuits and opportunity

    Application Details

I applied in-person. The process took 4 days - interviewed at Skanska USA Building.

    Interview Details

The interview process was a "typical" tell me about yourself process. They asked questions about certain technology that they use on a daily basis, to ensure that I am able to function with it. The questions threw me off a little when they asked about what books I have read in the last year and why I read them. Very good and very different process to everything. I believe the reason that it was asked it to make sure that my personality will click with the teams. Overall on a scale of 1-10 for the interview I would put it at a 6.8 /7.

    Interview Questions
    • As I stated above, I would say that the unexpected question would have been the "What Book have you read in the last year and why".

      Very different.
