Current Employee - Order Picker in Amsterdam (Netherlands)

I have been working at Sligro Food part-time (more than a year)

Pros about the position as order picker at Sligro Food Group are the regular shifts, the relatively good pay, the flexibility between day and night shifts and the good atmosphere among colleagues at the workfloor

Order picking is boring, monotonous and opportunities to develop a career or to develop oneself are non-existent. Sligro is like virtually every company where there exists a big gap between unskilled, manual workers and management levels in the sense that suggestions of the people who actually do the job (i.e. order pickers) about convenient pick locations/route improvements etc. are routinely ignored.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep an eye out for keen people who start on the lower rung of the ladder and allow them do develop their careers within the company. The fact that there are no ways to develop your career and team leaders do not keep an eye out for smart people who do show commitment and the willingness to go that extra mile kills motivation.
