Sodexo’s client value proposition is based on the conviction that quality of life contributes to the progress of individuals and the performance of organizations. Naturally, this conviction starts at home with our own employees: we strive in everything we do to improve the quality of life of our employees wherever they are, whatever they do.
Our profession: serving others. Every day, 95% of our employees are in direct contact with our clients and consumers and we are proud of our 95% client retention rate. Achieving this success requires a strong value system: service spirit, team spirit and spirit of progress; and ethical principles: loyalty, respect for people, transparency and business integrity.
More than 95% of our 420,000 employees work on our sites, in daily contact with our clients and consumers. Our employees, who through their commitment and dedication personify Sodexo’s unique values of Service Spirit, Team Spirit and Spirit of Progress, are our greatest asset.
Clients and consumers are at the center of everything we do.
To serve them well on a daily basis, we have to demonstrate our availability and responsiveness, to anticipate their expectations and to take pride in satisfying them.
Sodexo has become a global company but we remain locally-focused; our managers in the field are true entrepreneurs, close to their clients and empowered to make decisions.
It is an absolute need in all of our operations, our business units and administrative offices, as well as in our management committees.
Each person’s skills combine with other team members’ knowledge to help ensure Sodexo’s success.
Teamwork depends on the following: listening, transparency, respect for others, diversity, solidarity in implementing major decisions, respect for rules and mutual support, particularly in difficult times.
Spirit of Progress
It is manifested through:
Our will, but also the firm belief that one can always improve on the present situation.
Acceptance of evaluation and comparison of one’s performance, with one’s colleagues in the company or with one’s competitors.
Self-assessment, because understanding one’s successes as well as one’s failures is fundamental to continuous improvement.
A balance between ambition and humility.
Optimism, the belief that for every problem there is a solution, an innovation or some way to progress.

I worked at Sodexo as an intern (less than an year)Pros
This was an awesome experience as a college student. Lots of exposure to all angles of marketing. Corporate structure has lots of marketing materials they provide each of their locations, but you still have the freedom of creativity tailored to the unit you work at. Was involved in everything from the market research, to strategic planning and creation of events, to the implementation of events. Was able to eat in cafeteria for free. Great school/life/softball/work balance. Management is understanding, as long as you can get your task done for the day or in the time frame required. Also was responsible for running the social media platforms. Was able to run that even when not in the office. Had opportunities to be a part of the catering unit for certain events. Well ran by management, great product and services makes the job easier.Cons
I would not say there were any major con's. The pay for an intern was a little below average at $9.50 per hour. It is reasonable considering you will gain great experience, there is no cost of traveling since it is on campus, and you get to eat for free when you are at work which is a huge savings.Advice to ManagementAdvice

Getting an Interview
Getting an Interview
- Application Details
I applied online. The process took 5+ weeks – interviewed at Sodexo.Interview Details
First there was a phone screen interview from a corporate recruiter. Then I got a call from the District Manager, and we had two casual interviews. Eventually he did a formal interview (see below). The following week, there was another casual interview, and over a week later, an in-person cooking test. They also requested a portfolio, but gave no guidelines for it.
Since they use behavioural interview questions, I assembled a list of 125+ such questions. Although they didn't ask anything from that list, I felt that it really helped me to be prepared.Interview Questions
