I have been working at Soraa full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Amazing, high quality product. The product is so far ahead of the competition, and still competitively priced, that it makes it easy to sell. It is a feel good place to work. You feel good about the product that you are making and selling. You feel good about all of the incredibly talented people that you get to work alongside. Coming from a background of working for huge companies selling commodity products and commodity services, this is such a refreshing and fun change. You are not just a number here, you make a big impact and really feel an important part of an exciting quickly growing company in a very important industry. The founder won the 2014 Nobel Physics Prize for his work with LEDs, what is more exciting and telling than that!

    Cons

Start up companies have their challenges. It is expected to experience some growing pains and personally taking on more tasks and roles than you might need to in a larger company. This can also be a Pro, however, if you have fun with it and take pride in jumping in, rolling up your sleeves, and actively helping grow a small company in to a huge success.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the good work of keeping all of the employees working as a united team and sharing in all of the excitement, challenges, and successes together.

    Application Details

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ weekinterviewed at Soraa in January 2014.

    Interview Details

I interviewed with the former CEO Tom who was nice but a bit foaming at the mouth like a rabid dog. Also interviewed with a tall Dutch guy who seemed stoned and detached from reality. Kind of a surreal interview. I also saw their working environment is a sweatshop so-called Open Office seald the 'No' for me.
