I have been working at SoundCloud full-time (less than an year)Pros
This company rocks. ( I mean that, figuratively AND literally.) The people here are SO friendly and down to earth. The NY office is beautiful and spacious. Typical work hours are from 9:30-6, but everyone seems to work within their own schedule. It's just so refreshing to be at a company where everyone is actually passionate about the product, and believes in a common goal. The perks are INCREDIBLE (ie: catered lunches twice a week, snacks galore, and last but not least...real-life musical instruments for happy hour jam sessions.) Need I say more?Cons
I really can't think of any cons. However, I guess since the company hasn't really started selling ads on the platform as of yet - there's a bit of of an unknown.Advice to ManagementAdvice

I applied online – interviewed at SoundCloud.Interview Details
I was extremely disappointed with the interview process at SoundCloud. From the time the initial posting went up, until I finally received notification of my interview status, I found HR to be very slow and unresponsive. It took them about one month to reach out to me for even an initial interview, which was conducted via Skype. This interview was approximately 45 minutes and consisted of standard background questions. I did get the sense, however, that they were a bit unsure of the scope of the role.
I did not hear back from HR for another 2-3 weeks, at which point I was asked to complete a case study that consisted of an excel model, powerpoint presentation, and short essay outlining SoundCloud's current business model and opportunities for growth. I was given a week to complete the assignment. When I submitted the assignment, the next day I received an e-mail from HR notifying me that they would get back to me soon.
It took me three follow-up e-mails over the span of 2 months to get an update on the status of my application. Candidates put a lot of time and effort into cases, and a generic yes or no follow-up is the least they deserve. Furthermore, many are interviewing for multiple jobs, and need to know the status of their applications in order to make the most well informed decisions they can on their careers. Quite frankly I found the ignored e-mails and slow response times to be extremely unprofessional, and if this is how the company operates when it is still in early growth stages, I can not imagine the chaos that may ensue when it matures. I sincerely hope they streamline the interview process for future candidates, so that they do not feel as in the dark about their status as I did.No OfferNegative ExperienceAverage Interview
