I worked at Southern Medical Corporation

Free training. Most co-workers are young, fun, and in college. Most shifts will have long downtime giving you plenty of time to study. Great perspective of the hospital environment as a whole, considering you work both in the ER and on the floors.

Heavy handed upper management. If you worked part-time, you were treated as a 2nd rate employee and were subject to the worst shifts. The company is quick to fire part-time EKG technicians also.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find a way to reward those who are doing well as some sort of incentive. Be more proactive. When you only hear from upper management after something goes wrong then it cultivates a work culture where the only thing you want to do is stay out of sight, instead of, say, a work culture where people are wanting to do greater things.
