I have been working at Specsavers full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The management is style seems a lot better in Australia. There were a lot of incentives and bonuses, healthy competition between employees. Training and support given as needed. A lot of encouragement in terms of self development and working in a team. The managers listened and made you feel valued. No naming and shaming!

    Cons

There was some pressure to meet sales targets, but they would address you individually about their concerns.

    Application Details

I applied online. The process took 1 week - interviewed at Specsavers in March 2013.

    Interview Details

Two interviews before being hired. Face to face interviews. At the beginning they offered to me a part time job as leaflet distributor, paid on the number of hours I used to work.
After two months they offered to me to join them in the shop, as optical assistant. They gave me the opportunity to attend many training, well organized by Head Office. Very good start.
Then direction has changed and everything has changed as well. No time for external trainings. Promotions without proper training due to lack of time. Same wage with more responsibilities.
