Decent discounts, prodeals, and free rentals. Friendly co-workers and good managers. They were very flexible with working around school schedules.

As with any retail store environment customers would be the worst part about working here. Can be difficult to move up.

    Advice to Management

Stop the strict dress code requirements. To this day I can not wear a polo shirt without feeling like I am going to work.

I applied in-person. The process took 3 daysinterviewed at Sport Chalet.

Group interview with 5 other people. The manager came in, asked us about ourselves, why we want to work there and what department and why, made us tell him the benefits and features of a water bottle, made us sell him pens. At the end he gave us a piece of paper to count how many F's were in the paragraph below in one minute and told us to leave after we were done, said to wait around for 5 minutes and if you get a call to come back to the room. I got a call and he set me up for my first day 2 days later!

For those who play, there's Sport Chalet. The sporting goods retailer operates about 55 stores mostly in California, but also in Arizona, Nevada, and Utah. It also sells its goods through its online shopping site. The stores, which average about 42,000 sq. ft., are known for carrying specialty products, such as mountain climbing and SCUBA gear. Sport Chalet has traditionally specialized in gear for cold-weather sports, such as skiing and snowboarding, but its stores sell brand-name footwear, apparel, and equipment for many other activities, too.
