I worked at Steak n Shake part-time (Less than a year)

You make tips so it's an incentive to work harder I guess. It makes for a decent employment experience when you finally go to apply for another job. I had fun while I was there. All the walking you do is good exercise.

Your salary sucks ($4 an hour) and you have to stand for 6+ hours with only a measly 30 minute break. I would come home exhausted and after a week my legs were stiff and sore. I had issues with walking and sitting and leaning on my knees. The management was extremely disorganized and it always hard to pin one of them down to ask a question.

    Advice to Management

You definitely need to be more organized and you need to have an established way to communicate with your employees. Listen to their complaints too, without getting pissed.

    Average Interview

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Steak n Shake (Sunrise, FL).

It started very good, upbeat a lot of information and facts exchanged both ways,at the phone interview and also with the district manager in person. But then the breakdown occurred when there was the 3rd interview by phone with the VP of Operations. Everything came down to a screeching halt.
