Last week, SRR's Cleveland office participated in a day of fun at the Western Reserve Rowing Association where they learned the basics of the sport of rowing including rowing terminology and boat handling. The group was able to practice basic rowing techniques using stationary rowing machines (Erg) before getting into the water. Once training was done, it was time to test out their rowing skills. For the next hour and a half, they made their way down the Cuyahoga River in groups of eight, followed by a much deserved dinner at Merwin's Warf. Check out the pictures we've posted!

I have been working at Stout Risius Ross, Inc. full-time (Less than a year)
Work with great people and learn a lot. Hours aren't too bad especially compared to investment banking. Get to work with managers and managing directors.
Normal cons with client service business: can be long hours, tough deadlines, last minute work. There is a fair amount of turnover in the analyst ranks.
Advice to Management
Do everything you can to keep the young people. Try to promote from within as much as possible.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took a week. I interviewed at Stout Risius Ross, Inc. (Chicago, IL).
3-4 hour interview process. The interview includes a 20 minute company presentation, a 30 minute technical assessment, a 30 minute writing assessment, 3 30 minute 2 person interviews, and finally a wrap-up. The technical assessment included 10-k questions, excel calculations, and logic questions. The writing assessment asked you to respond to an email from a client. The interviews were a mix of behavioral questions, walk me through your resume, and technical questions. Everyone was very nice during the interview and overall, it was a smooth process compared to similar firms.
