It was a great place to work, with great coworkers and great clients. The benefits package was excellent and the compensation was great. Salaries were very good, annual increases were great, and incentive compensation (bonuses, commissions, etc.) was very generous. This was a place that if you worked hard you would be compensated very well.Cons
Product development has of recent been developing products based upon the needs of a few large clients, without consideration of the entire customer base, and how they use the company's software. Product development has been releasing products before they were ready to be released, just to meet announced release dates. Product development is slow to release updates that correct product issues/bugs.
The above mentioned product development issues have caused extra work/stress for all the client facing staff in the company (training/sales support, technical support, consulting, etc.).Advice to ManagementAdvice
The senior management team that was put in place by the former owner does not understand how the customer base uses the software products developed by the company. This has allowed a few big customers to steer the development team in the wrong direction.
The newest release of the company's main product LDRPS is too complicated for the average client roll out themselves. This is great for growing consulting revenue, but it has alienated many long term customers and caused an increased work load on the technical support staff.
It seems like the senior management of the company had insulated , the former owner from the realities of the business for a period of time. The former owner has since sold the company. One can only hope the new owners will clean house at the upper leadership level and set the company back on course before all the truly talented people leave.RecommendsDisapproves of CEO
