I have been working at Sumner Regional Medical Center full-time (less than a year)

SRMC is unlike any other hospital. They really put the patients and families first (with the #1 focus on Customer Service), care about their employees (great benefits, competitive pay), and have an outstanding leadership team (Lifepoint CEO of the Year, future growth is BRIGHT - future career opportunities).

New leadership = Exciting changes, but growing pains. The hospital has a history of doing things the same way. The new leadership team has implemented new strategies to improve the hospital; however, some tenured employees aren't used to change. Overall, the changes are going to help the hospital/system improve their level of care/customer service.

    Application Details

I applied through other source. The process took 2+ weeksinterviewed at Sumner Regional Medical Center in May 2013.

    Interview Details

The initial interview was a "career fair" at the hospital. The Executive Director met me at the fair. Second interview was at the office with the second-in-command and another staff member, to get their opinions. They initially seemed very open and kind. Two-faced and back-stabbing. Not just my opinion...also my best friend, who still works there.

    Interview Questions
    • All expected questions regarding home health experience, comfort with computers, etc. most unexpected was WHY I wanted to work there, considering the pay, sign on bonus, and good mileage reimbursement.   View Answer
    Negotiation Details
Make sure you get a sign on bonus and you have to be there two years to get it (and they will fire you before you get it, if they can). They offer you the moon and stars if you are experienced. There are catches.
