I have been working at Sun Tan City full-time (more than 5 years)

This is the most challenging yet the most rewarding job- couldn't ask for any more and I am extremely grateful for the chances the company gives all employees. I love that you are able to see how you contributed to the company's growth and you are compensated accordingly.
The company gives a lot of employees their first opportunity to be in a management position and really invests in every single employee- they push you to be the best that you can be!! If you a driven employee you will thrive in the environment!! They have extremely high standards for EVERYTHING- again those that want to be challenged, want to grow as a professional, and are motivated will prosper. No one has ever promised that you do not have to work hard to grow with any company.
The company appreciates the employees and those that work hard- this company truly rewards those that deserve to be rewarded and cares about a work life balance. It is a business and the goal is to help the company grow and make revenue- those that don't succeed do not understand that. The company has wonderful benefits, pays well but pays based on how YOU are contributing to the company. i love that!!! Some people believe that you should be rewarded for intentions- this is not the case.

Some people's misinterpreted perception of the goals the company sets. They truly value each employe and a work life balance. They value all clients. But they also value being a profitable company and they expect every employee at every level contribute to the company's success-- Some people do not understand this but at the end of the day the company has every employee's best interest in mind. If you want a job where you are not held accountable and you do not want to be coached and developed- you should not apply. The company will always push you to be better. Good employees appreciate this.

    Interview Details

Applied online after seeing a Craigslist posting about an open Salon Director position. I sent my resume, received a response with generalized questions about my personality a few days later. After I replied with my responses, I was emailed by another employee who set up my interview for the next day. I was on time for my interview and waited in the lobby for about 15-20 minutes before going back. The lobby and store in general felt awkward, cold, and unwelcoming. I was uncomfortable as soon as I walked in. The interview was in an "office" that was the size of a pantry. My interviewer was a corporate employee and seemed very bored and discontent with her job. No one at the store seemed to have any passion or personality, which was disheartening. My interview consisted of general questions about my experience, as well as situations that I have been in. Examples: "Give an example of a situation in which you had to discipline an employee", "What qualities do you believe good managers should have?", etc. I probably answered about 3 pages worth of questions. During my interview, the woman informed me that I was interviewing for an assistant (!!!) manager position. If I would have known that before, I wouldn't have wasted my time. I applied under the false pretenses that it was a general manager position. I was immediately frustrated and turned off once she told me that it was an assistant manager position. Overall, I left feeling uncomfortable and hoping that they wouldn't call me. I would not suggest this employer and I would tan elsewhere after this experience. The overall vibe of this place was just strange.
