Former Employee - Planning Manager in Brisbane, CA

I worked at Suncorp full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The group puts bright people into leadership roles and there's opportunity to move within the business to gain experience and progress your career. Generally there is a pragmatic approach to getting on with the job and adapting to change.

    Cons

With extreme cost focus post-GFC & post-mergers there was way too much internal competition for roles and politics tended to prevail in appointments.

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeksinterviewed at Suncorp.

    Interview Details

    Group interview:

    Stage 1: Casual Group interview

The entire group is split into groups of three. In each subgroup there are two leaders from Suncorp. This is your opportunity to have a fairly casual interaction with the leaders at Suncorp, and for the leaders at Suncorp to ask questions about you.

    Stage 2: Behavioural Game

This will be different from interview to interview. In your small subgroup you get to play a game. We had to construct paper planes. The game lasted three iterations. The group leaders spend the time observing your participation in the activity

    Stage 3: Quick fire interview

The quick fire interview consists of four 10min interviews from the pool of leaders at Suncorp. Who gets to interview you is random. Fairly standard 1 on 1 interviews.
