    Sutter reequips for improved care

    LAKEPORT >> Sutter Lakeside Hospital has introduced several new technologies that were funded by donors and Sutter Health System. The technologies include a special imaging chair and standing platform that enable better X-ray images and a more comfortable, safe patient experience, a treadmill and patient monitoring systems that connect with electronic health records, and more intense, focused surgical lights for the operating room (OR).

Our History

To help ensure that they will be here for the next generation, physicians and hospitals in Northern California—along with the communities they serve—decided to join together. Sutter Health is the not-for-profit network we're creating.

We started out as independent health care providers, but forces like rising costs and declining payment for services have made it difficult for hospitals and physicians to continue operating on their own. Just in the last decade, more than 100 Northern California hospitals have had to close their doors, and the majority of state's physician groups are facing significant problems as well.

Our Historical Roots

While Sutter Health as it is today was created through the January 1996 merger of Sacramento-based Sutter Health and Bay Area-based California Healthcare System, the foundation of Sutter Health began taking shape well over 100 years ago, as independent hospitals opened to meet the health care needs of their local communities.

    I have been working at Sutter Health full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great benefits such as pension, health/dental, life insurance and kind of a crappy 401k compared to my last employer but still not bad. Personally had lots of opportunity to move up but that will depend you and how motivated you are.

    Cons

    Regions are doing things their own way BUT we are not moving towards a real One Sutter so I expect good changes to come.

    My management is Great, keep up the good work and keep leading this company in the right direction.

    Application Details

    I applied online. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Sutter Health in February 2015.

    Interview Details

    First had a phone interview asking the typical interview questions (why this job? why health care? etc.)
    After about a week I got invited to an in person interview. 2 hour interview process. Had a 90 minute exercise that tested word applications knowledge. Afterwards, had to present the work from the exercise to a panel and then finished off with a panel interview.
