    Pros

Individualize testing and instruction for students to really help them succeed. This means that they find the wholes and gaps in the students' education and work to fill them in.

    Cons

It is a sales industry so if a student is a behavior problem there is not much you can do because your boss wants the sale. Pay is low for education required.

    Advice to Management

Raise pay to reflect the necessary skills required to perform job duties. $10 an hour is pretty low for someone with a BA degree.

    Application

I applied through an employee referral – interviewed at Sylvan Learning Centers (Saint Louis, MO) in May 2015.

    Interview

My interview began as a phone interview and I am still in the interview process. I had the interview on monday and received a phone call on Wednesday to come in for a observation which is the next step of the process. After that I will hopefully move on to an in person interview. The beginning of the phone interview began with the discussion of what all happens at Sylvan and what they are expecting from you. At the end of the interview I asked some follow up questions.
