If you are in driving school or are a recent graduate, TMC has one of the only Department of Labor certified apprenticeship programs for Heavy Truck Driving in the industry. This program will build on the skills and knowledge you learned in truck driving school and prepare you for a real career in trucking. And if you are a member of our Armed Forces and are transitioning out of the military we are ready to help you with career opportunities in trucking. Enrolling in our driver apprenticeship program allows you to draw on your VA education benefits for up to eighteen months.

MILITARY VETERANS

Currently, 30% of TMC's fleet is comprised of veterans. • Is TMC's Training program VA-approved?
  • Yes. Our driver apprenticeship program in approved by the VA, allowing recent veterans to draw on their GI Education Benefits
• How long is the apprenticeship program?
  • TMC's VA apprenticeship has been approved by the VA for a period of up to 18 months.
• Will I be paid retroactively?
  • YES. It will go back to your first day of orientation.
• How long does it take for the VA to process my application?
  • Due to the large volume of applications the VA is running behind the average 13 week standard processing time (90days) to process the file. This begins once received by the St Louis processing center.
• How many veterans does TMC employ?
  • TMC is proud to hire veterans. More than 30% of our fleet has served in the U.S. Armed Forces, as well as numerous office and shop staff. We have also pledged to hire 500 more veterans by 2014 through the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Hiring Our Heroes campaign.
